Moore named leader of financial planners group; Todman tapped to helm rental housing group; more departures and arrivals

Moore to helm financial planners group

Dennis J. Moore has been named CEO of the $8M-revenue Financial Planning Association, the trade group for certified financial planners. He succeeds Patrick D. Mahoney, who stepped down earlier this year after leading the association since 2020.

“Dennis has positioned the association for long-term success through his many years of servant leadership,” said 2025 FPA President Paul Brahim. “The board is thrilled he will continue to guide our professional staff in supporting members and the financial planning community.”

Moore has been serving as FPA’s chief operating officer and interim CEO since February. He previously spent more than a decade at wealth management firm Quest Capital Management, where he was chief operating officer, executive manager and director of operations. He also held leadership roles at Mercer Advisors. 

He has a bachelor’s degree and MBA from Texas Tech University and is pursuing a Ph.D. in personal financial planning from the same institution.

Todman to lead rental housing group

Adrianne Todman has been appointed CEO of the $3.3M-revenue National Rental Home Council, which represents the single-family rental housing industry. She succeeds David Howard, who has led the association since 2019.

“(Adrianne) brings an exceptional wealth of federal, state and local housing expertise and association leadership that will position NRHC to provide our members with top-level support as they offer housing opportunities to families across the country,” said Mark Solls, chair of the NRHC board.

Todman previously served as acting secretary and deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and as CEO of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials. Earlier in her career, she was executive director of the District of Columbia Housing Authority and held housing policy roles in the U.S. House of Representatives and HUD.

She has a bachelor’s degree from Smith College.

NCTA – The Internet & Television Association — James Assey will depart at the end of the year after nearly 18 years as executive vice president. He joined $65M-revenue NCTA in 2008 and has played a central role in shaping the group’s policy, advocacy and operational strategy across the broadband and television industries. Before that, he served as senior counsel on the Senate Commerce Committee and as an associate at law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher.

American Psychiatric AssociationJustin Singh has joined $65M-revenue APA as senior vice president of operations, finance and transformation. He previously served as senior principal at Roivant Sciences, a biotech and health technology venture company, and has held roles with data analytics firm Lokavant, online insurance marketplace Policygenius, and consulting firm McKinsey & Co.

Bank Policy InstituteDrew Ruben has joined $32M-revenue BPI as senior vice president and associate general counsel on the regulatory and policy affairs team. He previously served as senior counsel in the legal division of the Federal Reserve Board, where he focused on payments innovation and banking regulation. Earlier in his career, he was an attorney at law firms Davis Polk & Wardwell and Covington & Burling.

National Rental Home Council — Terrie Suit has joined $3.3M-revenue NRHC as chief operating officer. She previously served 11 years as CEO of the Virginia Association of Realtors. Earlier, she was Virginia’s secretary of veterans affairs and homeland security, a government affairs director at law firm Williams Mullen, and a member of the Virginia House of Delegates.
