DeCubellis to lead hospitals group

America’s Essential Hospitals has named Jennifer DeCubellis as its next president and CEO, effective Sept. 22. She succeeds Bruce Siegel, who has led the $15.6M-revenue association since 2010 and will remain through the end of the year to assist with the transition.

“Jennifer has been a proven leader throughout her career, successfully heading a variety of organizations and always advocating for patients and their access to care. We are very pleased to welcome her to America’s Essential Hospitals,” said Thomas J. Quatroche Jr., chairman of the board for America’s Essential Hospitals.

DeCubellis joins from Hennepin Healthcare System in Minneapolis, where she served as CEO for over five years. She previously was deputy county administrator for Hennepin County, overseeing health and human services, and earlier served as assistant commissioner at the Minnesota Department of Human Services. At the federal level, she worked with the CMS Innovation Center to advance delivery system reform and public policy development.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in special education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. 

Weber named leader of surface fabricators group

The $725K-revenue International Surface Fabricators Association has appointed Laurie Weber as its next CEO. She succeeds Marissa Bankert, who resigned in July after seven months at the helm.

“ISFA has a strong reputation for connection, quality and craft,” Weber said. “I’m honored to join this incredible community and lead the organization into its next phase of growth and impact.”

Weber brings more than 25 years of association and nonprofit leadership experience. She most recently served as executive director of the Professional Remodeling Collective, where she guided the group through a rebrand and strategic plan launch and developed nationally recognized apprenticeship and certification programs. She also founded Vienna Management, a consulting firm supporting trade associations, nonprofits and workforce initiatives. Earlier, she was director of operations at FirstService Residential and held roles at the Center for Food Integrity.

She studied nonprofit communication and organizational behavior at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Biotechnology Innovation Organization — John Torres has left his role as senior director of federal government relations for agriculture and environment at $114M-revenue BIO to join Bockorny Group as a principal. He joined BIO in 2023 as director of federal government relations and was promoted in 2024. Earlier, he served as executive director of the Maryland Farm Bureau and held government affairs roles at Ohio Corn & Wheat and the American Farm Bureau Federation.

Managed Funds Association — Jesse Westbrook has joined as vice president of communications of $32M-revenue MFA. He was previously a managing director at Narrative Strategies, a public affairs firm in Washington, D.C., and earlier cofounded Capitol Account, a policy-focused financial news startup. He spent more than 18 years at Bloomberg News.

National Rural Electric Cooperative Association — Amber Allman has been named vice president of advocacy, press and member communications of $213M-revenue NRECA. She most recently served as head of PR and marketing communications at AlliantGroup. Earlier, she was vice president of corporate communications and events at media company Gannett and head of global public affairs at Yahoo.

The Toy Association — Jeff Snyderman has joined as chief financial officer of the $24M-revenue Toy Association. He was most recently chief financial officer at construction equipment company JESCO. Earlier, he spent nearly seven years as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Horizon Group USA, a Toy Association member company, and more than 16 years at Toys “R” Us in finance leadership roles.

            Additionally, Maria Sierra has been named vice president of government affairs. She previously served as director of government relations at Cummins Inc. and earlier was director of international trade policy at the National Association of Manufacturers. She also worked as a policy advisor to U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) and spent nearly a decade handling legal and immigration affairs at the Embassy of Guatemala.

USTelecom — Jay Cho has joined as director of government affairs of $19M-revenue USTelecom. He was most recently director of federal government relations at VMware. Earlier, he held federal affairs roles at Verizon, served as senior advisor at technology nonprofit SeedAI, and led political strategy for Stand with Asian Americans.
