Loretta DeLuca, founder and CEO of DelCor Technology Solutions, died of cancer April 3 at the age of 63. 

DeLuca entered the business world after graduating from the University of Maryland, cofounding the technology company that would later become DelCor. Since 1984, DelCor has provided IT consulting, assessments and managed services to associations. 

DeLuca was highly regarded among leaders in the sector. "Loretta’s honors and volunteer leadership on boards are manifestations of who Loretta has been to all of us. Perhaps that’s why she’s always been known as Loretta. Like a rock star with no last name needed, we all know exactly to whom someone refers when someone in this community says, 'Loretta,'" DelCor President Dave Coriale said.

DelCor has also been a valued partner of CEO Update, providing experts for exclusive member events and providing expertise for in-depth articles. In 2017, DeLuca was named the Association TRENDS Partner of the Year.

Loretta’s legacy is one of devotion, kindness, and excellence — a legacy that will continue to inspire and resonate for many years to come," said Brittany Carter, CEO of CEO Update and Association TRENDS. 

DeLuca was a longtime member of ASAE, winning several leadership awards and serving on the board from 2007 to 2010.

"Loretta dedicated her career to helping associations thrive through technology. She was a passionate leader, a generous mentor and a dear friend to so many. Loretta’s light, wisdom and warmth will be missed beyond words," the American Society of Association Executives said in a statement.

Last year, she was honored by Association Forum with the John C. Thiel Distinguished Service Award for her commitment and service to association members. She served on Association Forum’s board as well. 

"Loretta’s legacy is one of unwavering dedication and heartfelt mentorship. Her impact on the Association Forum and the broader community will be felt for generations. She truly embodied the spirit of service and leadership," Artesha Moore, president and CEO of Association Forum, said in a statement.

DeLuca is survived by her father Guiseppe Montarestelli; her daughter, Michela; and fiancé, Mike Evans.

A celebration of life was held April 8 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Potomac, Maryland.
