Interim named at Certified Financial Planners October 26, 2006 Following the resignation of Sarah Ball Teslik earlier this month, the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards has selected Dr. Don I. Tharpe as interim CEO. A long-time association executive, Tharpe most recently served a short term as president and CEO of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. Previously, he spent 12 years as executive director of the Association of School Business Officials International. Tharpe will join the Denver, Colo.-based regulatory organization on Oct. 30 while the Board of Governors completes the search for a new CEO.
