Understanding an association’s revenue trends — whether nonprofit earnings are increasing, decreasing or stagnating — is crucial information for members of the C-suite. CEO Update recently analyzed 990 data from 2,848 national associations that reported annual revenues exceeding $2 million. Our data team specifically analyzed organizations that had achieved year-over-year growth from 2021 to 2022 and again from 2022 to 2023 and in which categories.We found that a small proportion of associations exhibited sustained growth during this period.
