Slater (left) and TanelThe Association of Equipment Manufacturers announced both the pending retirement of longtime President Dennis Slater and the promotion of Megan Tanel to the top job, beginning Jan. 1.Tanel is currently AEM's senior vice president, construction and utility sector. She joined the Milwaukee-based association as an intern in 1995 before being hired as a full-time employee and then rising through the ranks. For many years she led AEM's exhibitions and events initiatives and helped launch World of Asphalt in 2001.
