Tom Koonce, former assistant vice president for federal government affairs at the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, is MBA’s new vice president of legislative affairs, effective Nov. 2. Prior to joining IIABA, Koonce worked in private industry and on Capitol Hill as legislative director to Rep. Brad Miller (D-N.C.).
