David Yarnold has been promoted to executive director of Environmental Defense Fund and president of the Environmental Defense Action Fund, the lobbying arm of the group. Yarnold is a Pulitzer Prize-winning finalist for editorial writing and spent 27 years at the San Jose Mercury News, where he served as editor, executive editor and managing editor.
