The American College of Cardiology has filed a response and countersuit against former CEO Christine McEntee, accusing her of breach of contract and breach of duty of loyalty. ACC says McEntee failed to give the association 4 1/2 months written notice of her resignation. ACC said it suffered material and economic damages from McEntee’s failure to perform her duties as CEO and her abrupt departure. The charges, filed Dec. 20 in U.S. District Court, also rebutted claims of sexual discrimination and termination without cause made by McEntee.
