The Chamber said on Monday that it will mandate the shots for staff once the Food and Drug Administration fully approves them, according to the news outlet. The Pfizer vaccine is expected to be the first to get FDA's full approval, likely in September.

A recent internal survey by the Chamber found that more than 90 percent of its staff have already been inoculated against the virus. But the recent surge in COVID cases has caused the Chamber to postpone its office return, which was supposed to happen in early September, according to Politico.

The Chamber is one of a growing number of associations making the vaccine a condition of employment. The National Association of Manufacturers was the first association to publicly announce it would mandate shots for staff, with CEO Jay Timmons saying in a July 30 statement that the policy would take effect in mid-September. Ninety-eight percent of NAM's 150-person staff are already inoculated.

CEO Update reported Aug. 13 on additional groups requiring employees to get vaccinated, including the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the International Economic Development Council and the Compressed Gas Association. https://bit.ly/2XtFHSY
