Dale Jones to head Diversified Search

Firm has offices in D.C. and seven other U.S. locations

Dale Jones has been named CEO of Diversified Search as Judy von Seldeneck, who founded the firm more than 40 years ago, steps back from day-to-day management. Von Seldeneck will continue as chairman.

Jones joined the firm in 2013. He will lead Diversified Search from its Washington, D.C., office, though he maintains an office in Philadelphia.

Von Seldeneck praised Jones for his strategic vision.

Lawyer to lead refinery association

American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers external counsel Chet Thompson named president, replacing retiring head Charles Drevna. Thompson previously worked as counsel for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Former Chicago-area retail group CEO dies

Ed Knodle, the former executive director of the North American Retail Dealers Association, died March 5 at age 62. Cause of death was not provided.

Knodle was a longtime retail executive who left the Chicago-based association in 1996 to become chief administrative and financial officer at MARTA Cooperative of America. NARDA represents independent retailers. He most recently was VP of membership development at Nationwide Marketing Group.

Former American Psychological Association head dies

Raymond Fowler, a former psychologist who led the American Psychological Association for 14 years, died March 17 at age 84. A cause of death was not provided.

Fowler was elected president of APA by the organization’s membership in 1988. The following year he joined the staff of APA as EVP and CEO, a position he would hold until 2003.
