MPAA extends Chris Dodd's contract to 2018
The Motion Picture Association of America announced June 5 that its board extended the contract of CEO Chris Dodd to 2018.
Dodd, a former Democratic U.S. senator from Connecticut, was named head of MPAA in 2011. He replaced Dan Glickman, who led the group for six years. Dodd earned more than $3.2 million in 2013, according to MPAA’s most recent tax filings.
Mix of private sector and nonprofit experience won former Outdoor Industry Association CEO top spot at Reston, Va. group.

When Carolyn Grant was making a career transition—away from a tenured position in academia—she envisioned her ideal vocation: working at a museum, preferably with music. Turns out she was in the right place at the right time for the right job.

Head of multiple sclerosis group to retire
Douglas Franklin will step down as president and CEO of the $10M-revenue Multiple Sclerosis Association of America later this year.
Franklin has led the Cherry Hill, N.J.-based association since 1999. He previously was director of social marketing at the International Youth Foundation.
He has a master’s degree in political science from McMaster University in Ontario.
Brewers Association hire part of consumer outreach efforts.
