The National Restaurant Association recently announced that its board of directors extended the contract of CEO Dawn Sweeney by another five years, beginning in January 2015.

She joined the $71 million-revenue association in 2007. She previously was president and CEO of AARP Services, the taxable subsidiary of AARP, and held executive positions at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and International Dairy Foods Association. NRA credits the CEO with starting successful education outreach efforts, increasing trade show revenue and increasing its advocacy profile, as the group has waged high-profile political fights about minimum wage and calorie labeling on menus. She earned $1.5 million during 2013, according to the most recent tax records.
