Exec finds fellows in medical societies

When Dale Singer became executive director of the Renal Physicians Association in 1995, the entire staff was herself and an administrative assistant.

Singer turned to another organization—the American Association of Medical Society Executives—for peer support and expertise. On July 24, she’ll become president of the AAMSE board at the group’s annual conference in Portland, Ore.

AAMSE “was really aligned with what I needed to know for my career and for me to be more valuable for my association,” Singer said. At AAMSE “I can gather with people just like me and who are confronting the same issues—the kind of issues that if you’re not in a medical society, you’re not feeling the same pain.”
