Henry Chamberlain says his is the classic story, with a few twists. A University of Vermont political science student back in the 1970s, he took a nontraditional spring break. Instead of going to Florida, he joined the trip to Washington, D.C., where alumni hosted and took students to Capitol Hill.
“I made some great contacts, but never thought about working for a trade association. I thought it was kind of a side rail. You went there to semi-retire; you wanted to work for profit or on Capitol Hill.”
