For a New York native with a new business degree, working on Wall Street may have seemed a natural choice. But Tom Wojno quickly realized his job at data services provider Bloomberg LP was the wrong choice for him.

“One of the most valuable things in your own career trajectory is knowing what you don’t want to do,” Wojno said.

Instead, after just over a year at Bloomberg, he moved to Washington, D.C., for a job in corporate relations with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and found his calling in associations.  In November, Wojno, 32, was hired for a new position at the International Dairy Foods Association.  As senior vice president of innovation and member advancement, he will work with CEO Michael Dykes to re-imagine the organization for the future.

“We’re really re-evaluating everything we do,” Wojno said.
