Jay Vroom will end a three-decade run as CEO of CropLife America in 2018, staying around long enough to assist the pesticide industry association in its leadership transition.
Vroom announced his upcoming retirement Sept. 25 at CLA’s annual meeting in Dana Point, Calif. He will step down at the end of next year. He was first appointed CEO in 1988 and has been re-elected to the position by CLA’s board of directors every year since.
“When I stepped into this role in 1988, I don’t think I could have foreseen the challenges and triumphs the industry would encounter over the past three decades,” Vroom said in a statement.
