Text messages are one of the most popular forms of communication, so some associations are exploring whether people will also use texts to learn.

The Construction Specifications Institute recently completed a test pilot for a text course on writing effective learning objectives. The results were promising, if not necessarily decisive, and the group plans to continue exploring ways it can incorporate the tool into its educational offerings.

“This was a completely new format for us,” Kristin Gates, manager of learning and instructional design at CSI, told CEO Update. “We have been exploring other microlearning … but we hadn’t explored text message learning.”
