Some associations find value in living, working together

Sharing office space allows groups to save money while building base for closer collaboration on issues facing their industries

The National Corn Growers Association and U.S. Grains Council are basically roommates but, fortunately, they’re not The Odd Couple. Unlike the protagonists in the sitcom, the two groups get along and even share cleaning duties.

“Tomorrow we have a scheduled cleaning and one person from each side will be there to clean,” NCGA Office Manager Kendra Ricks said. “Every 12 weeks or so you just gotta get rid of everything in the fridge.”
