RILA head came to the association at a transformative time, says the industry continues to confront new challenges every day

Sandy Kennedy had worked for trade groups for the bulk of her career when the opportunity to pivot to what she laughingly calls the “real world” presented itself—a position with Andersen Consulting [now Accenture]. She’d worked with the consulting giant on research projects while she was with the National Retail Federation, and the job was an avenue to leverage relationships she had in the retail industry as well as to expand into other areas, including manufacturing and pharmaceuticals.
“And I think I was just looking for a change,” she said.
