General counsels are known for wearing many hats, and that’s certainly true for Delia Patterson at the American Public Power Association.

She took on oversight of human resources and administration for about two years, after another staffer left APPA in 2014. Last November, Patterson was named vice president of regulatory affairs, and then in April became acting senior vice president of advocacy and communication. All this in addition to making sure the association stays on the right legal footing.

It’s a good thing she enjoys multitasking.

“I really like the balance that I’m able to have,” Patterson said. “I just don’t do routine work. Very few things happen to be routine.”
