Groups ramp up efforts to look out and ahead for members

If there’s one thing clear about the future, it’s that technology and other disruptive forces are changing it faster than ever.
More associations are getting aggressive about anticipating what could hurt or help their members—whether that’s three years, 10 years or possibly even further down the road. They are pulling together ever-expanding sources of data, hiring people to conduct research and analyze trends, and investigating technologies that could be industry game-changers. But the results might not always be what association members want to hear.
