Several associations have launched networking platforms for members in the past year as way to increase overall engagement
ASIS International and the American Occupational Therapy Association both unveiled online platforms in recent months offering members a place to network and share documents.

When members of the International Parking Institute wanted to share ideas online, they used to turn to the discussion forum on the association’s LinkedIn group. It got the job done but was an imperfect vehicle for providing members the communication channels they would like.
“It wasn’t exactly what we were looking for,” said Kim Fernandez, IPI’s director of publications. “What we heard from our members is they wanted something a bit more association specific.”
