ARTBA encourages members to use social media to contact Congress through new platform; tweets include infographic on jobs

As music from the game show “Jeopardy” played softly in a hotel meeting room, members of the American Road & Transportation Builders Association pulled out their smartphones and began contacting members of Congress.

In just a few minutes, more than 80 advocates delivered about 350 tweets, Facebook posts and emails. By the time Capitol Hill visits  ended the following day, on April 15, federal lawmakers had been hit with 692 messages to pass a long-term transportation bill and #fixthetrustfund, all through the same online tools.
