Traditional PACs rake in millions for candidates

Black is the new green for ArchiPAC, the political action committee of the American Institute of Architects.

Architects are famously fond of the color black, so in 2013 ArchiPAC created a lapel pin with a black background for its highest giving level. The move corresponded with seven people putting up $2,500, topping the previous highest contribution by about $500. Other pin colors are white, silver and gold.
