Halee Fischer-Wright uses the word “asynchronous” to describe her career path. Her multiple and often overlapping vocations include pediatrician, business consultant and health care executive.

Now CEO of the Medical Group Management Association, Fischer-Wright is reprising another role: successful author. Her new book, “Back to Balance: The Art, Science, and Business of Medicine,” was released in September by Disruption Books.

“I have a lot of different perspectives on the health system,” Fischer-Wright said. “I can speak business as well as medicine.”

Fischer-Wright also wrote, with her business consulting partners, the 2008 organizational management book “Tribal Leadership.” The volume still sells well today, she said.
