Some associations have stepped up their communications and education efforts to help relieve pandemic-caused worker shortages

With many sectors having a tough time finding workers, some associations are playing the role of recruiter by putting jobseekers in touch with member companies.
The Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association launched its first job board in June in conjunction with a social media and satellite radio campaign advertising that the state’s hospitality industry is hiring. So far FRLA has posted more than 800 job openings at 250 employers, according to Senior Vice President Geoff Luebkemann.
“We have tinkered with (a job board) over the years, but this is our first and best organized effort at it,” he said. “This is a brand new website. … It is just another tool to try to serve the industry and solve a problem.”
