The decision by many corporations and at least five associations to suspend PAC contributions to Republicans who voted against certifying the Electoral College vote count Jan. 6 could be a watershed, some observers say.
However, making a long-term commitment about withdrawing support for 147 lawmakers is difficult, as evidenced by the fact that more associations have paused all PAC contributions rather than singling out the GOP objectors.
One veteran lobbyist for a liberal advocacy group is optimistic.
