Robert moves to materials information society
STEM association leader Sandy Robert has been named executive director of the $40M-revenue ASM International, effective Jan. 1. The society, based near Cleveland, Ohio, represents professionals in materials engineering and science.
Robert will finish out 2021 as CEO of the Association for Women in Science. During her three years at AWIS, she has led membership growth and engagement, boosted monthly web traffic through digital marketing and more than doubled year-end donations, according to the announcement by ASM International. She also partnered with the board to guide the association to a competency-based board model.
From 2013-2018, Robert was executive director of the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives, where she redesigned the partnership program and rebranded the organization’s signature annual meeting. She has an MBA from Eastern Michigan University.
