Hamlin to depart irrigation group
Deborah Hamlin has announced her plans to retire as CEO of the Fairfax, Va.-based Irrigation Association at the end of the year. She has led the $5.2M-revenue group since 2006. Hamlin previously led the Kansas-based International Association of Plastics Distributors. She has an MBA from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Mo.
“I am really retiring! At least that is my plan. I have a tiny fear that I might go stir crazy after a few months, but I am willing to try!” Hamlin said in an email to CEO Update.
Hamlin has been instrumental in shifting IA’s mission to “promoting efficient irrigation,” with a focus on education and advocacy, according to a statement. She has served on the boards of the National Association of Manufacturers’ Council of Manufacturing Associations and the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors.
