Turner departs lighting designers
Marsha Turner will step down June 30 after 18 years as CEO of International Association of Lighting Designers and executive director of the IALD Education Trust. COO Ashley Robbins has been named interim leader in both roles, effective July 1. Chicago-based IALD reported $5.4M revenue in 2018.
During Turner’s tenure, the association’s network has grown from a handful of chapters to 30 global regions and chapters, according to a statement, while association membership has increased to more than 1,500 global members. The Enlighten Conferences have also expanded from a one-day conference to multi-day international conferences. IALD also credits Turner with helping to develop the Certified Lighting Designer credential.
