More than 1,000 people attended ASAE’s annual event honoring the positive impact of associations Oct. 3.  Revenue from the dinner, held at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., was reported at $800,000. Proceeds will support ASAE’s advocacy and outreach efforts through the Power of A Fund.

The event showcased six previously announced Summit Award winners—individual associations or coalitions that helped address societal problems through specific programs.

These 2018 honorees are: The Actuarial Foundation, American Counseling Association, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Institute of Food Technologists, NRF (National Retail Federation) Foundation, and the Diabetes Emergency Relief Coalition, a joint effort of eight organizations.

The Power of A Judging Committee had selected 16 association programs to receive a Power of A Gold Award (including the six Summit Award winners) and 34 associations for a Power of A Silver Award.

The event was co-chaired by Matthew Shay, CEO of the National Retail Federation, and Heidi Brock, CEO of The Aluminum Association.
