Some job interviews leave candidates wanting to crawl under a table, but most don’t act on that impulse. Recruiter Wendy Pangburn once interviewed someone who did.

Avoid the seven deadly job interview sins

Pangburn, president of Pangburn Partners, said she was interviewing a job candidate a few years ago when the person’s cell phone started ringing. The individual promptly pulled out the phone and then slunk under a nearby table to answer it.

“It wasn'’t even ‘excuse me,’” she said. “They just said ‘I got to take a call,’ and then crawled under the table like I wouldn’t notice.”
