Bill Hudson never left the association community—he’s just sitting on the other side of the desk now.

Hudson became a partner earlier this year in recruitment firm Heidrick & Struggles and a senior adviser in its education, nonprofit and social enterprise practice, after three decades at the Global Cold Chain Alliance. His history as an association executive dates even further back than that.

“This is an industry that I have loved for many years, and what drives me is working with associations and learning about associations, their search committees, their leadership and what they are looking for, and helping them find the right leader,” Hudson told CEO Update in an interview from Heidrick & Struggles’ Washington, D.C., office on Pennsylvania Avenue.
